Jacqueline Erickson Russell Biography

Jacqueline Erickson Russell is Founder and CEO of Social Impact Advising Group. She is a philanthropic expert experienced in family foundation start-up, foundation succession planning, and community engagement strategies to increase impact.
Jacqueline’s expertise is in cultivating community, facilitating, and bridging divides. Through designing and leading a social entrepreneur accelerator focused on increasing access to resources and diversifying the field. The results lead to an international award for equity, diversity in inclusion after the first year of implementation.

Previously, Jacqueline led a strategy at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, which has over $2.6 billion in assets and $36 million of annual giving from the education department. While at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Jacqueline designed, launched, and funded over 10 unique non-profits and programs that impacted over 540 education leaders annually. She designed grant management strategies, grant application programs, and metrics for organization strategy and diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. Her work balanced local and national philanthropic strategy; she facilitated workshops nationally and co-led a national participatory grantmaking coalition.

Before joining the Kauffman Foundation, Jacqueline founded the talent department for a charter network. She also completed Teach For America, teaching and coaching at a KIPP school. While at Yale University, she played Division I basketball, held executive leadership at Pi Beta Phi, and led Yale Hunger and Homelessness Action Project. Jacqueline holds an undergraduate history degree from Yale University and a graduate education degree from University of Missouri- St. Louis.
Currently, she volunteers her time on the conference planning committee for Orange County Grantmakers, as board member at Families Forward, a Big Mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and at her church. She makes time to chase sunshine and her two young children.
